  • Keep your service areas within about 2 hours of driving from your base.
  • If your name, brokerage, address, or phone changes, edit the profile. Google may ask you to verify again.
  • Add new genuine photos from time to time.
  • Remove anyone from People and access who no longer helps you.
  • Check your profile link and review link every few months.

Good to know

  • Eligibility: Google requires in-person contact with clients during your stated hours.
  • Google names real estate agents as an example of individual practitioners. An agent can have a profile if clients can reach the agent directly at the verified location during stated hours.
  • If several agents work at one office, the office has its own profile. Each agent's profile uses only the agent's name.
  • If you are the only agent at a branded office, Google says to share one profile, named in the format Brand: Your Name.
  • Support staff should not create their own profiles. Do not create extra profiles for specialties.
  • Google says sales associates or lead generation agents for corporations are not individual practitioners.
  • Homes for sale or rent, model homes, and vacant apartments are not eligible for their own profiles. Sales or leasing offices are.
  • A virtual office is not eligible unless it is staffed during business hours. A coworking office needs clear signage.
  • Hide your address only if clients do not visit you there. If you work from home, Google says to hide your home address.
  • Google chooses which verification methods you see, and you may need more than one. Methods can include phone, text, email, live video call, video recording, or postcard.
  • If you get a postcard, most codes arrive within 14 days and expire after 30 days. While you wait, do not change your name, address, or category, and do not request a new code.
  • You must verify before you can reply to reviews. Posts from an unverified profile stay pending.
  • New owners and managers must wait 7 days before they can remove other users or transfer ownership.
  • Creating and claiming a profile is free.
  • Google's help gives the address and review link steps for a computer only. Use a computer for those.
  • Older features: chat and call history ended on July 31, 2024. Short names can no longer be created. Google began replacing the public Questions and Answers section in Maps with an AI Ask feature in December 2025 (secondary source).
  • Apps change their menus often. If a button has a slightly different name, look for the closest match.

  • Your Page lives inside your personal account. You switch into the Page to manage it. It does not have its own password.

  • Until you set a username, your Page link may use a number instead of a name.
  • Facebook may limit how often you can change a username. Wait a few days between changes.
  • Full control lets a person manage access and delete the Page. Give it only to people you trust.
  • Older guides mention Templates and Tabs and classic Page settings. Most Pages now use the current Pages experience, so those menus may not appear.
  • Meta Business Suite is a separate, optional tool for posting, messages, and automated replies.
  • Some sources say only Instagram business accounts can connect to a Page on the Facebook side. Others say creator accounts can too. Follow the prompts you see.
  • Apps change their menus often. If a button has a slightly different name, look for the closest match.

Other steps were checked against secondary sources dated 2025 and 2026.
  • The in-app label may read Settings and activity or Settings and privacy, depending on your app version.
  • Business or Creator: the app describes Creator as best for public figures, content producers, artists, and influencers (per a secondary source). Business suits companies and brands. Either can work for an agent.
  • Secondary sources report that business and creator accounts cannot be private. If your account is private, expect it to become public when you switch.
  • Secondary sources report that business accounts may have a more limited music library for Reels than creator accounts.
  • A Facebook Page is optional. Instagram asks about connecting one when you switch. Some tools, such as ads or a shared inbox, may need it.
  • You can add up to 5 links in your bio, per a secondary source.
  • Your switch to a professional account is a separate step from connecting a Facebook Page. Connecting alone does not switch your account type.
  • These steps use the phone app. Instagram's business site gives the switch steps for the app.
  • Apps change their menus often. If a button has a slightly different name, look for the closest match.

  • Check that your channel link and your favorite video link still work once a month.
  • If a home in a linked video sells or comes off the market, update the video description or link a different video.

Good to know

  • YouTube Help gives channel creation steps for a computer or the mobile website, not the app. On a phone, open youtube.com in your browser to follow the same steps.
  • To use a business or team name that more than one person can manage, create the channel with a Brand Account: open your channel list, click Create a new channel, and follow the same prompts.
  • Supervised accounts may not be able to create a channel.
  • Handles are 3 to 30 characters. They can use letters, numbers, underscores, hyphens, and periods, but cannot start or end with a symbol. Your handle becomes your channel URL.
  • After you change your handle, YouTube holds the old one for 14 days and both links work. After that, someone else can claim the old one.
  • Older custom URLs still work and now send viewers to your handle URL. New custom URLs can no longer be set up.
  • You can add up to 14 links. The first one shows near the Subscribe button.
  • Changing your channel name can take a few days to show, and it removes a verification badge if you have one. You can change the name twice in 14 days.
  • Your YouTube picture and name are separate from your Google Account picture and name.
  • One older YouTube Help page still says Customization, then Basic info, for the handle URL. Newer pages say Customization, then Profile. Use whichever your Studio shows.
  • Apps change their menus often. If a button has a slightly different name, look for the closest match.

  • Keep your recovery phone and email current.
  • TikTok renames account options often. Recheck Settings and privacy, then Account, every few months.
  • If you change your username, your profile link changes too. Update it everywhere you posted it.

Good to know

  • TikTok's naming is changing. Its business help, updated May 2026, describes three levels: a General TikTok Account, which everyone starts with; a TikTok Account with Advanced Access, which you get by linking to a TikTok for Business account or a Business Center; and a Verified Business Account, which you get after business verification. The Verified Business Account used to be called a Registered Business Account.
  • Other TikTok pages from 2026 still describe Personal and Business Accounts and a Switch to Business Account option. You may see either set of names, depending on your app and region.
  • Business verification is open to accounts of all sizes, but only to people 18 or older. Check TikTok's accepted document list for your country before you apply.
  • A Verified Business Account can show its business profile publicly and add destination links to videos or the profile. Advanced Access accounts can edit these details but cannot show them on the profile.
  • If you do not see a Website field, your account may not qualify yet. Secondary guides from 2026 say accounts that are not business accounts need at least 1,000 followers for a clickable link. A web address typed in the bio is not clickable.
  • The blue verified badge is a separate process for high-profile accounts. Business verification does not give a blue badge.
  • Business Pages can only be set up in the phone app, need a Verified Business Account without TikTok Shop, and need an account owner over 18.
  • Organization Accounts are a different type, controlled by a verified organization, and are not covered here.
  • Apps change their menus often. If a button has a slightly different name, look for the closest match.

  8. Follow up no more than a few times. Zillow suggests asking no more than three times in total.

  2. Open your review link, or select Agent finder and search for your name.

  • Check that each new listing shows you as the listing agent.
  • Reply to new reviews.
  • Review your bio, photo, specialties, and service areas every few months.

Good to know

  • A free agent profile does not require a paid product. Premier Agent advertising is separate and has its own terms.
  • Cities and counties you add as service areas show on your public profile. ZIP codes do not.
  • Only closed sales can be added as past sales. Leased rentals cannot.
  • You cannot manually add a sale that MLS data credits to a different agent. Ask Zillow Partner Support about errors.
  • Listing details that come from your MLS cannot be edited on Zillow. Correct them in your MLS.
  • If your MLS sends team information on a listing, Zillow links it to the team profile, not your individual profile. Sales a team lead assigns to you need your confirmation.
  • Reviews are checked by Zillow before they are published. Zillow's tips say this usually takes 2 to 4 days, and up to 10 days when volume is high. You are not told when a review is rejected.
  • Agents cannot review other agents. You cannot delete a single review, but you can flag one for another check.
  • Canadian licenses could not be added as of Zillow's June 2024 licensing article.
  • Zillow's help articles use slightly different labels for the same MLS tool, such as Add MLS agent IDs, Manage MLS ID, and Manage MLS Agent ID. Use the one your screen shows.
  • The app steps come from an undated Zillow help article. App menus may differ.
  • Zillow Partner Support: 1-888-466-3501 or partnersupport@zillowgroup.com.
  • Apps change their menus often. If a button has a slightly different name, look for the closest match.

Good to know

  • The basic profile is free. Realtor.com also sells paid upgrades, such as enhanced and Local Expert profiles, that add sections like video and Q&A. You do not need them for a basic profile.

  • When a NAR member claims a profile, NAR certifications and designations are added automatically.

Keep it current

  • Update your bio, photo, and phone number when they change.
  • Add or remove cities as your service area changes.
  • Test your social and video links every few months.
  • When you change brokerages, contact Homes.com agent support, since you cannot edit your office yourself.
  • Check Notification Preferences in Account Settings so inquiries reach the right person.

Good to know

  • The official Homes.com agent help pages are old. All of them are dated July or August 2022. Homes.com has changed since then, so your screens may look different.
  • In October 2023, the Homesnap Pro app became the Homes Pro app. If you had a Homesnap account, your profile moved to Homes.com and you can sign in with your Homesnap password.
  • The phone app steps come from a 2023 MLS help article, not from Homes.com help.
  • Homes.com help says all agents can get a free profile, and agents who are not in an MLS can also sign up. Paid membership is a separate product.
  • Your name, license, and office cannot be changed in the editor. Contact Homes.com agent support to fix them.
  • Homes.com help does not state a limit on how many cities you can add.
  • The 2023 guide showed an Include me in the Agent Directory switch and a Request Endorsements tool. Neither could be confirmed in current official help. Homes.com help says registered agents show in Find an Agent.
  • Homes.com agent support: Support@homes.com or (800) 431-5509, as listed by Miami REALTORS in June 2026.
  • Apps change their menus often. If a button has a slightly different name, look for the closest match.

  • If permission is unclear, send people your /subscribe link and let them sign up themselves.
  • Once a post is emailed, it cannot be sent again. Edits update only the web and app versions.
  • The option Change subdomain without breaking links sends old links to your new address. You can use it only once.
  • If you have a publication, your subdomain is reserved as your handle.
  • Each account can have up to 10 publications.
  • Paid subscriptions are optional. Each publication that charges needs its own Stripe account.
  • Substack help gives one set of app steps for iPhone and Android. Settings, imports, and the QR code are documented for the web only.
  • Apps change their menus often. If a button has a slightly different name, look for the closest match.

Your photos and intro video

A current headshot, a few real photos of you at work and in your towns, and a short intro video, all shot on your phone.

30 to 60 minutesSteps checked October 25, 2026Phone stepsComputer steps

Have these ready

  • Your phone, cleaned lens, and at least half the battery.
  • A window with soft daylight, or a shady spot outside.
  • A plain or softly blurred background.
  • The clothes you would wear to meet a client.
  • Three sentences for your video: who you are, where you help, and how to reach you.

1. Take your headshotPHONE APP

  1. Stand facing the window so the light is on your face, not behind you.
  2. Have a friend hold the phone at your eye level, about 4 to 6 feet away.
  3. Use the main camera, not the selfie camera, for a sharper photo.
  4. Frame from the middle of your chest to just above your head.
  5. Take 20 or more shots. Relax your shoulders and smile with your eyes.
  6. Pick one that looks like you today. Skip filters and heavy retouching.
  7. Keep the original full-size file. Do not send a screenshot.

2. Take your photosPHONE APP

  1. Take 6 to 12 photos of you at work: at a showing, at a closing table, at a sign, with your car or your favorite coffee shop.
  2. Add photos of places you love in your towns: a main street, a park, a lake, a local landmark.
  3. Hold the phone level. Tap the screen on the subject to focus.
  4. Only include other people, children, or clients if they have said yes.
  5. Use only photos you took or have written permission to use. No listing photos you do not have the rights to.

3. Record your intro videoPHONE APP

  1. Pick a quiet room. Turn off fans, music, and the TV.
  2. Turn the phone sideways for your page. Record a second take upright if you also want one for social media.
  3. Prop the phone at eye level, about an arm's length away.
  4. Look at the camera lens, not the screen.
  5. Say your three sentences in 30 to 90 seconds. Example: I'm Gabrielle with the Find a Home Team. I help buyers and sellers in Franklin and across Middle Tennessee. Call or text me any time.
  6. Record 3 takes and keep the best one.
  7. Describe the homes and the towns, never who lives there. Fair Housing applies to video too.

4. Upload themPHONE OR COMPUTER

  1. Open Build my agent page in your Home Base.
  2. In Photos and video, tap Add your headshot and pick the original file.
  3. Tap Add photos and pick up to 12.
  4. Tap Add your intro video, or paste a YouTube link if it is already online.
  5. Check each preview, then tap Save.

File tips

  1. Photos: JPG, PNG, or HEIC, at least 1200 pixels on the short side.
  2. Video: MP4 or MOV, under 2 minutes.
  3. Name files with your name, for example gabrielle-headshot.jpg.

Keep it current

  • Update your headshot at least every 2 years, or when your look changes.
  • Add a few new town photos each season.
  • Re-record your video when your towns, team, or contact details change.

Good to know

  • Show your brokerage name the way your broker requires anywhere your photos or video are used to advertise.
  • These are the Find a Home Team's own tips, not a platform's instructions.
  • Apps change their menus often. If a button has a slightly different name, look for the closest match.
